On a crisp winter afternoon in the snowy alpine village of Chamonix in France, skiers enjoy one last run (though don't call it that) down la piste. Flushed after a day on the slopes, they make their way to chalet terraces to cheers the start of a much loved tradition - Après-Ski. Under Mont Blanc’s storied peak come sounds of clinking glasses, smells of cheese fondue and sights of winter pastels streaming across the sky. As light begins to fade and the merriment continues, the cheers grow louder and boots start getting on the tables. Then the only question is: Last call or first chair?

Cloudy Day Pastels

I have many Nomad palettes and I wasn't going to buy this one because it is so heavily focused on pastels and as an extremely pale person, pastels usually don't look the best. Then I started seeing pics of people using the palette and decided to give it a go.

I'm so thankful that I did. The pastels are unlike any that I've used before. They are very "gray", so they are like pastels on a cloudy day. They have a neutral quality to them. The variety of colors and the deepening hue for each color family is wonderful. You can build a beautiful pastel smokey eye.

The toppers are soft, you need to be really careful when dipping in a finger or makeup tool, but they blend like a dream and a little goes a very long way. Each one also plays well on top of different colored shadows. The pink is amazing on top of the greens and blues, and vice versa.

Shot ski is my new favorite shade to use as a liner.

Overall, all of the shades have the perfect amount of pigment. They are light enough so that you are able to build up to intensify a look, but they aren't so light that you don't see a nice wash of color with a single swipe.

This is definitely in my top three palettes, along with Chicago Speakeasy and Fuji Five Lakes.

I love everything about this palette! It has the exceptional Nomad quality that never disappoints!

Gorgeous but….

Ok so the colours in this palette are absolutely stunning. I think they were well curated. I love the layout. I find it incredibly user friendly. I find the range of colours to be really good with a solid amount of light to dark shades and good selection of both mattes and special shades.
However, the special shades are so soft that a few of them were super damaged in shipping. I was about the repress them. But I lost a lot of product. Since nomad is against the use of plastic (which is a decision I appreciate) it means there is less products used to protect the shades. Other brands (for example) use plastic disks to protect the softer shades. I love the palette but I was absolutely gutted when it showed up in rough shape. I wish there were more earth friendly products for protecting palettes in shipping.

Beautiful color story with long lasting pigmentation.

This is my first Nomad palette and I'm in love! I've had it for about 3 months now and love every look I've done.

First, the color story is gorgeous and I love every shade. Not a one that I looked at and thought "I won't use that." I really like that you have gradients of a color too, so you can keep a monochromatic look if you want.

Second, the pigment!! I have very oil lids and even with a primer I struggle to keep my makeup on to the end of the day. Not this palette! First product in my lfoe that stays all day with a primer under it, and I've tried other high end brands.

Third, the products do what they're supposed to. The mattes are full coverage, beautiful and not chalky at all. The shimmers don't have a bunch of fallout and also apply like butter. All of them blend really really well, too. Everyone should have this palette!

It’s a beautiful pallet. The colors are outstanding. I have not used it yet but I have watched it and it’s out of this world. I wish I could afford to buy a few more at least one more but with my dad passing away and money I don’t right now but as soon as I do I will just get myself another one🥰
